MANAGER, MODULE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

Summary

The Manager, Module Product Management serves as a key interface between the EPC business and Qcells’ broader module product, technology, manufacturing, and supply chain organizations. The role translates EPC project and business needs into module product and technology priorities and helps drive initiatives from development through qualification, deployment, and commercialization.

This position works cross-functionally with the Strategy Office, Module R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Sales, project execution teams, and external suppliers. The role combines technical understanding of PV modules and utility-scale solar systems with product management and commercial acumen to guide product development toward improved EPC cost, performance, constructability, and profitability.

The Manager, Module Product Management will lead and support strategic initiatives including module cost reduction, module and tracker integration, new product introduction, and domestic content and sourcing strategies. This position reports to the VP, Tech Strategy. The position is Hybrid reporting to Houston, TX and is expected to travel up to 20%.

Essential Job Function & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Tech Center interface for module product and technology initiatives affecting the EPC business.
  • Translate EPC project, construction, system performance, market, and commercial needs into module product requirements and development priorities.
  • Lead module technology and cost-reduction initiatives from business-case development through qualification, deployment, and commercialization.
  • Coordinate with the Strategy Office, Module R&D, Manufacturing, SCM, Sales, project execution teams, and other Qcells organizations to align product strategy and execution.
  • Evaluate new module and related system technologies for cost, performance, constructability, schedule, supply chain, policy impacts, and project risk.
  • Drive module and tracker/system integration strategies to optimize EPC system cost and performance.
  • Review product development plans, including prototypes, certification, qualification, manufacturing readiness, and field validation, to assess deployment readiness and schedule.
  • Develop deployment plans and business cases for technology initiatives, including unit benefits, project volume, implementation timing, investment, and portfolio value.
  • Support product roadmaps and new product introduction for utility-scale PV modules based on EPC and market needs.
  • Monitor module market trends, U.S. solar policy, and domestic content requirements and assess implications for product, sourcing, and technology strategies.
  • Evaluate suppliers, technology partners, and joint-development opportunities to improve competitiveness or accelerate commercialization.
  • Support initiative budgets and investment planning, including development expenditures and expected financial benefits.
  • Prepare business cases, KPI reviews, product strategy materials, and management recommendations.
  • Facilitate communication and decision-making across U.S. and Korea-based teams involved in module product development, manufacturing, sourcing, and strategy.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in product management, product development, engineering program management, technology development, or related functions.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional product or technology initiatives through commercialization or production deployment.
  • Strong technical understanding of PV modules and their application within solar energy systems.
  • Ability to evaluate technologies from technical and business perspectives and translate technical developments into business impact.
  • Experience working across engineering/R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and/or project execution organizations.
  • Strong analytical and project-management skills, including business cases, schedules, risk management, and implementation planning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical teams and senior management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering, science, or another technical discipline, or an MBA.
  • Utility-scale solar experience involving PV module product development, product management, or technology strategy.
  • Experience with utility-scale solar trackers and module-to-tracker/system integration.
  • Experience with PV module new product introduction, qualification, certification, manufacturing readiness, and commercialization.
  • Experience working with module R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and corporate or technology strategy organizations.
  • Familiarity with U.S. solar policy and domestic content requirements affecting product and sourcing decisions.
  • Experience developing techno-economic analyses and quantifying technology benefits at the project or portfolio level.
  • Experience coordinating across U.S. and Korea-based teams in a global organization.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English is strongly preferred.

The above-listed salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Irvine, CA. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
