Our Group Sustainability team plays a central role in this transformation — developing the strategy, partnerships and investments needed to reach our climate goals and strengthen the long-term resilience of the business.

As Manager, Climate Change, you’ll be instrumental in developing and delivering the Qantas Group’s long-term climate and nature strategy. You’ll lead cross-functional initiatives spanning decarbonization, investment, and strategic planning, ensuring our approach is ambitious, credible, and commercially robust. You’ll engage directly with senior stakeholders—including government, industry associations, and investor advocacy groups—to shape outcomes aligned with our sustainability vision. Your expertise will help embed sustainability into decision-making and investment frameworks across the Group. You’ll also champion initiatives in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), carbon markets, and waste reduction, supporting a holistic approach to sustainability and the circular economy.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

  • 5+ years’ experience in top-tier strategy consulting (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Kearney) or in corporate strategy/sustainability roles.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics, Engineering, Law, Environmental Science/Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide strategy.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with a track record of building business cases and evaluating strategic options.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with senior executives and C-suite leaders.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects through to successful delivery.
  • A genuine passion for sustainability and advancing the decarbonization of industry.
