POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Qcells is seeking an experienced executive to lead business development, sales operations, and marketing at Qcells New Homes. Qcells is the #1 supplier of residential solar modules in the United States approximately 3x the next biggest. In California, where solar energy is required for all new home construction, most homes being built use our modules. In 2025, we leveraged our module supremacy to establish a Qcells New Homes business, providing vertically integrated solar EPC and financing services to the largest new homes builders in the country. The business has launched and scaled rapidly. The next period of growth will be a critical stage as builder relationships are cemented, and volume increases drastically year after year. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex trade relationships with large new homes builders, understand the homes closing process, and have familiarity with solar. They will also have experience managing high performing sales teams.

This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA or San Francisco, CA, with a potential in-office schedule set at the direct managers discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Partnership Development: Identify, engage, and secure collaborations with national, regional, and local homebuilders and developers to incorporate.
  • Channel Development: Lead the effort to provide financing solutions to roofers and new home solar installers.
  • Market Analysis and Strategy: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the new homes sector, informing the development of targeted business strategies.
  • Sales Training: Develop materials for training new homes sales representatives from builders about how to pitch solar.
  • Marketing Leadership: Develop Qcells as a presence at major conferences and industry events.
  • Volume Planning: Forecast bookings based on builder growth and sales cycle timelines.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain robust relationships with key industry stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and real estate professionals, to promote the Company value proposition.
  • Team Leadership: Hire a team of account managers, establish KPIs and develop sales strategy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, economics, finance, communications or other related field with a minimum of 15 years professional work experience including 10+ years experience leading teams in new homes business development
  • Deep understanding of the new homes builder industry.
  • Familiarity with the residential solar industry.
  • Ability to ideate, develop and execute strategic plans, in close collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fastpaced customercentric environment where priorities may change quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, team development, people management and influencing skills at a senior level, including leading and managing a sales team.
  • Must have experience in new business generation and pipeline development.
  • Ability to monitor & analyze sales performance and effectively manage volume-based incentive plans.
  • Impeccable attention to detail as well as a detailed analytical thinker with ability to recruit and lead quantitative talent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present credit management, vision and strategy in internal and external forums.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high growth environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading new homes solar organizations.
  • Experience with sales organization volume forecasting.
  • Experience with leasing equipment, particularly with how it is priced.
  • Experience in new home construction or experience as a trade partner.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the jobs minimum qualifications.
