We’re looking for a Senior Associate!

What you’ll do:

As a Senior Associate, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team solving complex business and technical issues from strategy through execution. The role requires a strong grounding in chemical/process engineering and industrial project delivery, combined with the ability to translate engineering evidence into commercially actionable advice for clients developing or adopting alternate fuels.

Technical and Process Engineering

• Assess process configurations and production pathways for hydrogen and derivatives, biofuels, sustainable aviation fuel, synthetic fuels and other low-carbon fuels.

• Evaluate feedstock characteristics, reaction and separation steps, energy integration, product specifications, storage and handling requirements, and technology scale-up considerations.

• Review technical documents, licensor or vendor offers, equipment datasheets and engineering assumptions, and support techno-commercial bid evaluation.

• Identify operability, constructability and integration risks, including interfaces with existing refinery, petrochemical, fertilizer, gas-processing or other industrial facilities.

Techno-economic and Commercial Assessment

• Perform energy-based techno-economic assessments, cost and performance benchmarking, financial modelling, sensitivity analysis and scenario evaluation for alternate-fuel projects.

• Assess technology maturity, efficiency, yield, emissions intensity, capital and operating cost drivers, supply-chain constraints and commercialization pathways.

• Support technology screening, partner or vendor evaluation, feasibility studies, business cases and strategy-to-execution roadmaps.

Project Delivery and Client Engagement

• Support consulting engagements across concept selection, pre-feasibility, feasibility, procurement support and implementation planning.

• Coordinate with engineering, operations, procurement, finance, sustainability and policy teams to collect and validate technical and commercial inputs.

• Manage assigned workstreams, track scope, schedule and quality, and proactively resolve technical interfaces and data gaps.

• Prepare client-ready reports, proposals, presentations, dashboards and C-suite materials that convert complex engineering analysis into clear recommendations.

Research and Thought Leadership

• Conduct market, technology, policy and competitor analysis

• Contribute to proposals, knowledge assets and thought leadership on technology scale-up, project economics and low-carbon fuel commercialization.

What are we looking for?

4-8 years experience. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline from a reputed institution; a Master’s degree in a technical field or an MBA is preferred.

Mandatory skill sets:

Relevant experience in process engineering, engineering consulting, EPC, technology licensing or industrial operations within refining, petrochemicals, fertilizers, oil & gas, hydrogen or alternate fuels.

• Demonstrated understanding of chemical-process fundamentals, including mass and energy balances

• Ability to evaluate process performance, yields, energy consumption, emissions, CAPEX/OPEX and key project risks.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project-delivery skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous technical and business problems.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of clear reports and executive presentations.

• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to build transparent analytical and financial models.

Preferred skill sets:

Hands-on exposure to hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, biofuels, SAF, synthetic fuels, CCUS or low-carbon process technologies.

• Exposure to FEED/detail engineering, equipment sizing, procurement planning, material requisitions, technical bid evaluation, vendor interfaces or commissioning/operations support.

• Familiarity with lifecycle emissions assessment, carbon-intensity calculations, relevant fuel standards/certification schemes, and data-visualization tools such as Power BI.

• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, multidisciplinary and client-facing environments.
