The Position

PurePoint Energy is seeking a high-impact Head of Sales to join our leadership team. This is a true Player-Coach role — a senior revenue leader who will maintain a personal book of high-value Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) accounts while building the structure, talent, and systems of our expanding sales department.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the company’s revenue engine and play a central role in strategic growth decisions. You will be responsible for driving top-line growth, establishing predictable revenue performance, and building a disciplined, high-performing sales organization.

You are a strategic and commercially disciplined sales leader who combines executive-level thinking with hands-on execution. You are confident leading complex negotiations, structuring multi-million-dollar deals, and guiding clients through sophisticated financing solutions.

Experience Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

● 5+ years of commercial solar sales experience with a documented track record of closing complex C&I projects
● Demonstrated experience building, leading, or scaling a sales team
● Proven ability to manage full-cycle sales processes from origination through contract execution
● Strong financial and commercial acumen

Preferred Qualifications:

● 8+ years of industry experience
● 3+ years in a leadership or Player-Coach capacity (Director, Senior Manager, or Team Lead)
● Deep expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Critical Technical Knowledge:

● Mastery of C&I financing structures, including PPAs, operating leases, and specialized incentive programs such as Multi-Family Affordable Housing credits
● Strong understanding of commercial contract structures, risk allocation, and negotiation strategy

Location: Norwalk, CT

Must be able to work from our Norwalk, CT office 3 days per week and travel locally for client meetings and site visits. There is the potential to attend conferences and other events as well.

Job Responsibilities

Revenue Leadership
● Maintain and grow a personal portfolio of high-value C&I and BESS accounts
● Serve as lead closer for complex, multi-million-dollar projects
● Own departmental revenue targets, forecasting accuracy, and pipeline health

Sales Team Development
● Recruit, hire, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team
● Establish performance standards, compensation frameworks, and accountability metrics
● Build a scalable sales organization capable of sustained growth

Sales Systems & Forecasting
● Design and implement CRM workflows, pipeline management processes, and reporting dashboards
● Develop accurate forecasting models to ensure predictable revenue
● Establish KPIs aligned with company growth objectives

Technical & Commercial Leadership
● Guide clients through BESS integration and complex C&I financing structures
● Oversee pricing strategy, proposal development, and deal structuring
● Serve as internal subject matter expert on commercial energy solutions

Contract & Risk Management
● Lead commercial negotiations and manage contract structuring and execution
● Ensure alignment between sales commitments, financial terms, and operational capabilities
● Partner with finance and legal stakeholders to mitigate contractual and financial risk

Strategic Leadership
● Partner with the CEO on market expansion and long-term revenue strategy
● Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and vertical growth areas
● Contribute to executive-level planning and company growth decisions

Salary & Benefits

Compensation:
Total Target Earnings (OTE): $200,000 – $300,000 + (Uncapped)
Base Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 (Commensurate with experience)

Incentive Structure: Aggressive personal commission on self-generated C&I/BESS accounts plus a performance-based override on total department revenue
