Project Manager – BESS & Transmission

Overview

PTS Advance is seeking a Project Manager with experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Substation, Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of utility-scale projects, including planning, execution, cost control, and field coordination.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in power infrastructure and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of BESS and transmission line/substation projects from initiation through closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents, General Foremen, and field teams to drive execution
  • Lead project meetings including pre-construction, client updates, and closeout reviews
  • Track project costs, billings, and forecasts to ensure profitability
  • Develop daily/weekly work plans and adjust schedules as needed
  • Manage change orders and contract administration activities
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and oversee incident reporting and corrective actions
  • Monitor equipment usage (owned and rental), tool tracking, and material allocation
  • Review and approve employee time tracking and project documentation
  • Support procurement, subcontractor coordination, and vendor management
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in utility-scale construction
  • Experience supporting BESS, transmission line, or substation projects
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and construction workflows
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical or power engineering background
  • Experience working with EPC contractors or utility clients
  • Familiarity with renewable energy projects and grid infrastructure
  • Experience managing large-scale or multi-site construction projects
