Graduate Analyst – AI Infrastructure & Energy Systems

Location: Perth, Western Australia (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-time (6–12 month contract, with potential to extend)

Company: Project Ohm Pty Ltd

About Project Ohm

Project Ohm is developing a new class of AI infrastructure that treats compute as a flexible grid asset rather than a traditional data centre.

Our vision is to build a nationally distributed network of intelligent AI compute nodes located at electricity substations, dynamically responding to renewable energy availability and network conditions. By combining software-defined AI infrastructure with electricity market intelligence, Project Ohm aims to enable sovereign AI capability while supporting the transition to a more resilient and renewable-powered electricity system.

We are working with utilities, government, universities and technology partners to explore a fundamentally different approach to AI infrastructure.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Graduate Analyst to work directly with the Founder and leadership team on one of the company's most strategic initiatives.

Your primary project will be helping develop an investment-grade white paper examining the future of Australia's AI infrastructure. This report will compare traditional hyperscale AI campuses with distributed AI infrastructure and will include engineering analysis, infrastructure economics, scenario modelling and policy recommendations.

This is not a traditional graduate role. You will contribute to research that may be shared with investors, government agencies, electricity network operators, research institutions and industry partners.

What You Will Work On

You will assist with:

  • Researching Australian and international AI infrastructure trends.
  • Analysing electricity market data, transmission networks and renewable energy integration.
  • Building financial and infrastructure investment models.
  • Developing scenario and sensitivity analyses.
  • Researching government policy, infrastructure planning and energy market reform.
  • Preparing technical reports, charts and presentation material.
  • Reviewing academic literature and industry publications.
  • Supporting investor, government and strategic partnership initiatives.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, analytical and enjoys solving complex multidisciplinary problems.

You may have recently completed (or be close to completing) a degree in:

  • Engineering
  • Economics
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Energy Systems
  • Computer Science
  • Data Science
  • Finance
  • Public Policy
  • Infrastructure Planning

We are less interested in your exact degree than your ability to think critically, communicate clearly and learn quickly.

Essential Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capability.
  • Excellent written communication.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to research and synthesise complex information.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following would be highly regarded:

  • Financial modelling.
  • Energy markets or electricity systems.
  • Python, R or MATLAB.
  • GIS or spatial analysis.
  • Power BI or Tableau.
  • Academic research or technical writing.
  • AI or machine learning.
  • Infrastructure economics.

Why Join Project Ohm?

This role offers an opportunity to work on problems at the intersection of artificial intelligence, electricity networks, infrastructure investment and climate technology.

You will gain exposure to:

  • AI infrastructure strategy.
  • Energy market design.
  • Infrastructure investment analysis.
  • Government engagement.
  • Startup commercialisation.
  • Investor strategy.
  • Technical research.
  • Executive decision-making.

You'll work directly with the Founder, gaining visibility across strategy, technology, partnerships and capital raising while contributing to work that has the potential to influence how Australia thinks about AI infrastructure.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first six months, you will have contributed to:

  • A professionally published white paper on distributed AI infrastructure.
  • Financial models supporting infrastructure investment decisions.
  • Strategic analysis for investors and government stakeholders.
  • Research that informs Project Ohm's national and international growth strategy.

How to Apply

Please submit:

  • Your CV.
  • A short cover letter explaining why this opportunity interests you.
  • An example of analytical work you are proud of (such as a university project, research paper, modelling exercise or technical report).

We value curiosity, initiative and rigorous thinking. If you're excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of AI infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.
