About the Role:
The role of Director of Construction involves overseeing and coordinating the construction activities of various renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar farms, carbon capture, and biodiesel facilities. The Director of Construction will be responsible for ensuring all required documentation is prepared and submitted our clients. They should have a comprehensive understanding of the processes and systems involved in managing diverse projects and clients with varying portfolios.
This role will support the senior leadership team in making informed decisions about projects. Responsibilities include providing accurate estimates of daily production, projected completion schedules, and cost-to-complete data in a professional and trustworthy manner. The Director of Construction should possess the necessary skills and abilities to drive success in renewable energy construction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leadership & Oversight – Direct office and field operations teams across multiple projects; establish a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
· Project Execution – Ensure energy and industrial projects are delivered safely on schedule, and within budget; monitor progress against performance metrics.
· Financial Management – Approve project budgets, forecasts, and risk assessments; make final recommendations on contingencies, buyouts, and margin opportunities.
· Contracts & Risk – Interpret contract terms, identify risks, and drive proactive solutions; oversee subcontractor selection and critical equipment procurement.
· Client Interface – Serve as the primary interface with EPC and owner clients; provide reliable reporting on production, schedules, and cost-to-complete data.
· Team Development – Mentor and train staff across disciplines; build capacity to support Sendero’s growth pipeline in renewable, oil & gas, and industrial markets.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• Minimum of 8 years of direct project estimating experience for renewable energy
infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively, think creatively and analytically, and
make sound decisions quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, HeavyBid, PlanSwift, and/or OST is preferred.
• OSHA 10-hour safety certification required.
