About Pravi

Pravi is a strategy and policy consulting firm that helps governments, institutions and businesses move from intent to implementation. Our work spans strategy, policy design, digital transformation and data-led decision-making, with a focus on outcomes that can be measured on the ground.

Why this Role

India is in the middle of one of the largest energy transitions in the world. Decisions being taken now on storage, renewables, energy efficiency, clean fuels and carbon markets will shape how the country produces and uses energy for decades. You will help shape policies, programmes and implement them in renewable energy, energy storage, energy efficiency, carbon markets and clean fuels. You will assist in research of what works, support decisions, set up the systems that put those decisions into action, and work directly with senior officials and industry leaders.

Key focus areas

  • Energy efficiency and conservation: BEE programmes and their implementation, including PAT, CCTS, ECBC, Standards and Labelling, and Demand Side Management
  • Renewable and alternative energy: Solar, wind and hybrid systems, grid integration and power system fundamentals, renewable purchase and consumption obligations (RPO/RCO)
  • Energy storage: Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and other storage technologies ○ Carbon markets and decarbonisation: carbon credit mechanisms, MRV, climate mitigation interventions and decarbonisation pathways
  • Biogas and alternative fuels: Compressed Biogas (CBG), associated technologies and other clean fuels
  • Waste and circular economy: waste management, and recycling and circular management of renewable energy equipment
  • Climate change and emerging areas: sectoral implications of climate change, clean technologies and other emerging areas in the energy transition

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing policies and programmes to identify gaps requiring policy, regulatory or implementation interventions
  • Draft issue notes, analytical briefs, policy documents, technical studies, background material and presentations
  • Examine documents and matters requiring technical inputs, and prepare technical notes, comments and responses

2. Programme Design, Implementation and Management

  • Translate climate and energy priorities into actionable plans, and support them through preparation, review and implementation
  • Support the roll-out of policies, programmes and facilitation services, from design to day-to-day operations
  • Support the setup, staffing and operation of dedicated cells of work areas, including RPO/RCO mechanisms and carbon credit facilitation
  • Support the implementation of BEE schemes and initiatives under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001
  • Assist in Demand Side Management programmes, management of energy conservation funds, PAT/CCTS processes and monitoring of renewable consumption obligations
  • Monitor programme progress, consolidate information, and follow up on activities and action points
  • Prepare periodic reports and submissions in prescribed formats and timelines
  • Help conceptualise, develop, integrate and manage digital portals and platforms

3. Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination

  • Coordinate with government departments, central ministries and agencies, industry associations, developers, manufacturers, financial institutions, international organisations, universities, research bodies and knowledge partners
  • Manage meetings and consultations end to end: agendas, presentations, invitations, background material and data collection formats
  • Record discussions, prepare Minutes of Meeting and track follow-up actions

4. Capacity Building and Knowledge Management

  • Develop learning resources such as reference materials, knowledge toolkits, training content and print material, tailored to the stakeholder needs
  • Plan and conduct training programmes, workshops and other learning sessions for stakeholders

Required experience and skills

● 4 to 10 years of experience in energy, power, climate, renewable, policy research, CSR or consulting sector
