We are currently searching for a Commissioning Coordinator to join our growing team in the Greater Vancouver Area and includes a hybrid work structure with a combination of in-office attendance, remote work, and onsite field work.


As a Commissioning Coordinator, you will support the delivery of building commissioning services across a wide range of project types and phases. Working closely with Pratus commissioning authorities, engineers, clients, contractors, and design teams, you will help ensure building systems are installed, tested, and performing in accordance with design intent, owner requirements, and sustainability goals.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Facilitate development of commissioning documentation which may include:
  • Owners Project Requirements documentation
  • Cx Plans.
  • Cx Specifications.
  • Commissioning Progress Matrices.
  • Pre-Functional Checklists.
  • Support the review’s of design drawings.
  • Provide excellent project management and Commissioning services.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning records of site observations, pre-functional checklists and functional testing.
  • Attend project meetings.
  • Attending job sites to verify the installation meets design intent, collect crucial information, and report results.
  • Support data collection, trend analysis and performance verification.
  • Manage commissioning documentation on Cx Alloy and contribute to continuous improvement of Pratus commissioning process and tools.
  • Communicate with the contractor to coordinate functional testing.
  • Manage time effectively to meet the schedule and scope of the project.
  • Develop commissioning reports.
  • Attendance at weekly workload and other Commissioning team meetings.
  • Flexibility to travel as required throughout the Americas or Asia (15%-20% of time).


Minimum Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Diploma or degree in engineering, building science, architectural technology, mechanical/electrical technology, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in commissioning, building operations, consulting engineering, construction, or a related building industry role (new graduates with relevant co-op or field experience may be considered) .
  • Fundamental working knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems.
  • Good at working under pressure, staying organized, and maintaining focus.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn, with a passion for building performance and sustainability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize objectives to meet project schedules.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the overall team.
  • Willingness to explore uncomfortable situations to develop and grow.
  • Drivers license in good standing.


Desirable Qualifications & Attributes

  • Knowledge of various commissioning standards, such as CSA and ASHRAE.
  • Familiarity with web-based Commissioning management platforms such as Cx Alloy or Facility Grid.
  • BAS controls experience.
  • Experience with LEED, Passive House, or other sustainability certification programs.
  • Exposure to mission-critical, healthcare, or complex building projects.
