Potential Energy Coalition, Inc.

Reports to: Director of Impact

Location: Remote, but SF, DC, or NY preferred

Type: Full-Time Employee

Status: Exempt

Climate change has a communications problem. We know the science. We have the policies. But for too long we have failed to educate, inspire and motivate people to get involved and demand solutions. To protect the world for future generations, we need to create worldwide public demand for action on climate change.

Potential Energy Coalition exists to solve this problem. We are an innovative, fast-growing startup that brings the very best marketing talent in the world to bear on the climate challenge. Leveraging deep analytics and creative storytelling, Potential Energy connects with people on a human level to tip the balance on the policies that will dramatically accelerate the energy transition. Our campaigns are backed by extensive audience research, yielding data-driven insights that shift the climate narrative to win the fights that matter. Founded in 2018 and supported by the leading philanthropists in the space, Potential Energy has a track record of transformative campaigns that capture audiences and mobilize support for climate action.

We’re now seeking a Strategy & Insights Analyst to support the growth of a new program: The Climate Operations Room. The Climate Operations Room is building up the infrastructure and capability to deploy persuasive and engaging content at speed and scale, so that climate narratives and stories can break through in the current media landscape. This analyst will play a unique role on our strategy and insights team by focusing on how we best understand, respond, and measure real-time social media conversations and our impact.

The ideal candidate is data-driven, curious, flexible and ego-free. Our team members are not afraid to roll up their sleeves while also leading the charge, providing many opportunities to maximize your and our impact.

Potential Energy is a remote-first workplace with team members spread out across the country. However, this position will prioritize candidates based in either New York, San Francisco, or Washington DC to co-locate with the strategy and insights team (typically, 1-2 times per week). Occasional travel to New York, Washington, San Francisco and other cities may be required.

Our environment is a unique blend of non-profit mission driven work supported by a high caliber team that comes largely from the private sector. We are also a close-knit, dedicated, and fun group of colleagues who strive to create a culture of support, opportunity, and inclusion. If this sounds like the right environment for you, come join us — we can't wait to meet the next member of the team!
