Senior Counsel

$175,000 - $275,000 plus bonus

Piper Maddox is partnering with a leading renewable energy IPP that has developed over 4 GW of energy and raised over $10 billion of equity to develop its wind, solar, and storage portfolio. They own a subsidiary C&I focused business which they are continuing to scale. Our client has deep industry expertise and a highly experienced team of problem solvers and trusted developers.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a Senior Counsel who will lead the legal team within the C&I business and have a critical seat at the table in creating and executing a robust legal function to push projects forward.

KEY SKILLS

  • Owning the legal suite of responsibilities including drafting and negotiating leases, PPAs, and agreements.
  • Perform due diligence activities related to transactions, lenders, and financing partners.
  • Advise finance teams on associated risks and create mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with senior management to ensure alignment on project requirements, risk management, value maximization, and the impact of federal legislations.

EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years counsel experience including support of renewable clients/companies (solar C&I preferred).
  • Experience in development, construction, and financing of energy infrastructure/facilities.
  • Big Law experience and training.
  • Law degree (J.D.) and admission in California.
