Service Technician (Mechanical/Electrical)
Field Service Technician – Utility-Scale BESS Location: Salome, AZ - Full time, On-site
Join a project that sets the standard for modern energy storage.
We are hiring Field Service Technicians to support a brand-new 1.8 GWh utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) site near Salome, AZ. This is the largest BESS deployment in the U.S., and it offers hands-on involvement with cutting-edge, U.S.-manufactured LFP technology from a Tier 1 battery OEM and system integrator.
What Sets This Role Apart
Fully integrated systems: All battery cells, containers, inverters, controls, and services are designed, built, and supported by one company, eliminating the inefficiencies of multi-vendor projects.
Mission-critical work: You’ll be supporting the single largest energy infrastructure project in the country, with a direct impact on grid reliability and renewable energy integration.
Structured growth path: The site is expanding rapidly, doubling the field service crew from 6 to 12 engineers and technicians over the next year. High performers will have early opportunities for full-time roles and advancement into engineering tracks.
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day operations, preventive maintenance, and inspections on BESS equipment.
Assist senior field engineers with system troubleshooting, inverter/PCS diagnostics, and firmware updates.
Document all site activities, maintenance tasks, and performance checks with accuracy.
Follow and enforce strict safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Collaborate closely with the OEM’s service team to ensure maximum uptime and operational reliability.
Qualifications
Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, or industrial controls systems (industrial maintenance, renewables, semiconductor, backgrounds are transferrable skills).
Basic ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and professional communication.
Comfortable working in a remote desert environment with extreme temperatures.
OSHA 10 and NFPA 70E certifications are a plus.
What We Offer
Above-market pay rate with overtime opportunities
Hands-on experience with cutting-edge, U.S.-manufactured LFP technology at the largest BESS site in the country.
Professional-grade tools, PPE, and comprehensive site training provided by the OEM.
Career-building exposure – work directly with a Tier 1 battery manufacturer and system integrator, gaining skills and experience that set you apart in the energy storage sector.
Team-first environment – join a tightly coordinated field crew with clear direction and support, not a subcontractor free-for-all.
If you’re ready to build your career in energy storage with a team that owns the entire system from cell to site, we encourage you to apply.
