Senior Interconnection Manager

Remote – Western U.S. (Must be based in the Pacific or Mountain Time Zone)

A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Senior Interconnection Manager to support a rapidly growing portfolio of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects across the Western U.S.

This role will be responsible for driving interconnection strategy and execution from early-stage development through commercial operation, with a strong focus on WECC markets and CAISO interconnection processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead interconnection activities across a portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects.
  • Manage generator interconnection requests and study processes with CAISO, utilities, and transmission providers.
  • Coordinate and review System Impact Studies, Facilities Studies, deliverability assessments, and interconnection agreements.
  • Develop interconnection and transmission strategies to optimize project viability, timelines, and project economics.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with utilities, consultants, ISOs/RTOs, and other key stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Development, Transmission, Engineering, and Commercial teams to identify and mitigate interconnection risks.
  • Monitor transmission planning activities, queue reform initiatives, and regulatory developments across WECC markets.
  • Support project acquisitions, greenfield development opportunities, and transmission due diligence efforts.


Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in interconnection, transmission planning, power systems, or grid integration.
  • Strong experience managing utility-scale renewable energy and/or battery energy storage projects.
  • Direct experience with CAISO interconnection processes and a strong understanding of the broader WECC region. (preferred)
  • Experience navigating generator interconnection studies, transmission planning processes, and utility coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders across different stages of development.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
