DIRECTOR, WELLFIELD OPERATIONS - Remote with Travel
Piper Maddox is partnered with a growing developer and owner-operator of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) project nationally. This is a senior leadership seat owning wellfield strategy, performance, and development company-wide.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Portfolio-wide wellfield operations — collection, balancing, tuning, gas quality, and recovery across every facility
- Long-term wellfield development strategy, plus annual and multi-year capital plans for expansion, replacement, and optimization
- Compliance for gas collection systems: federal, state, local, and permit requirements, including monitoring, inspections, and corrective actions
- Performance management — dashboards, benchmarks, forecasts, and analysis across SCADA, GIS, and field data
- Building the wellfield organization: structure, staffing, training standards, and development of managers, supervisors, and technicians
- Drilling, construction, environmental, and specialty contractors from proposal review through project delivery
- SME voice to executive leadership on strategy, capital, and staffing — including technical due diligence on prospective LFG and RNG acquisitions
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, operations, construction management, or a related technical discipline
- 8+ years in landfill gas, RNG, landfill operations, wellfield management, or environmental compliance
- Direct ownership of GCCS performance — wellfield balancing, gas quality, condensate, air intrusion, excessive vacuum
- Experience with well installation and collection-system development
- Proven leadership of technical teams, field personnel, and contractors
- Working knowledge of LFG permitting, monitoring, and regulatory compliance
- Comfort building operating budgets, capital budgets, forecasts, and project-level business cases
- Willingness to travel regularly across the landfill and RNG portfolio
