Investment Associate - Tax Equity

Location: NYC or Washington, DC ONLY


Piper Maddox is partnered with a fast-growing specialty finance platform focused on investing in infrastructure assets within the energy transition.


They are looking for a well-experienced Investment Associate to join their growing team. The platform is backed by institutional capital and builds scalable investment programs across renewable energy and sustainable assets. The team operates in a lean entrepreneurial environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial screening and commercial evaluation of new investment opportunities
  • Gather and organize deal data and prepare preliminary analysis for senior team review
  • Build and maintain transaction-level financial models
  • Support analysis of sponsor financial models by validating assumptions
  • Assist in identifying and escalating discrepancies or risks in transaction assumptions
  • Support full transaction execution by coordinating diligence materials and data room organization
  • Assist in drafting investment committee memos, presentations, and supporting materials
  • Assist with quarterly reporting and internal investment performance updates
  • Participate in internal and external communication with sponsors, developers, intermediaries, and advisors


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, math, or a related field
  • 1–4 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure investing, investment banking, consulting, tax equity, or related analytical roles
  • Experience with tax equity structures
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, lean team environment
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership
