Investment Associate

Location: Houston

Salary: Up to $160k + bonus

Piper Maddox have been assigned to a leading US renewable energy IPP. This Associate will be a core member of the Investments group, reporting directly to the Investment Manager. The Investment Associate will be involved in the underwriting of equity investments into utility-scale projects serving utilities and data centers, this includes both in-house greenfield projects and potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

The Investment Associate will also support the Structured Finance team in raising tax equity (TE) and project finance (PF) for projects ready for construction, thereby gaining experience across the whole capital stack for renewable energy projects.

What you will do:

  • Lead underwriting and financial modeling for utility-scale investments, including acquisition, development, and construction opportunities.
  • Support the evaluation and execution of prospective investments through financial modeling, due diligence coordination, and participation in deal structuring, negotiation, and transaction execution.
  • Support debt and tax credit financing transactions through financial modeling, due diligence coordination.
  • Assist in the preparation of investment committee memoranda and Board materials supporting greenfield and M&A investment approvals.

What you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, or a related field
  • 1-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, project finance, or corporate development within the energy or infrastructure sectors
  • Experience in transaction execution, including due diligence of infrastructure projects
