Junior Attorney - Energy & Infrastructure

An established U.S. power developer and independent power producer is seeking a Junior Attorney to join its in-house legal team in Charlotte, North Carolina (hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 remote).

This is a rare opportunity to work directly with the General Counsel on utility-scale energy and next-generation infrastructure projects, including expansion into emerging nuclear technologies.

You will gain hands-on exposure to real estate strategy, project development, and commercial contracting within a well-capitalized platform shaping the future of energy.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate real estate agreements (leases, easements, purchase agreements, site control documents)
  • Support project development through title review, curative strategy, and risk mitigation
  • Advise internal stakeholders on land, development, and commercial contract matters
  • Assist with vendor contracts, NDAs, entity compliance, and corporate matters
  • Contribute to M&A support, due diligence, and post-closing integration
  • Work cross-functionally with development, finance, and external counsel to advance major infrastructure projects

Experience required:

  • 2–3 years of legal experience
  • Admitted to the bar in at least one US State.
  • Experience drafting real estate, construction, or infrastructure agreements
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in energy, infrastructure, or project development preferred

Compensation & benefits:

  • Base salary: $100,000 – $120,000
  • 20% discretionary bonus
