Project Engineering Manager – North-East Germany
Location: North-East Germany (Berlin, Leipzig, Rostock)
The Opportunity
We are supporting a fast-growing renewable energy platform with an established presence in Germany and an expanding portfolio of utility-scale solar projects. With a strong pipeline across North-East Germany, particularly around Berlin, Leipzig and Rostock, they are looking to appoint a Project Engineering Manager to support the continued growth of their project portfolio.
This is an opportunity to join the business at an exciting stage of its growth, with genuine ownership across development, acquisition, engineering and construction.
The Role
You will act as the technical representative for the business when working with external EPC contractors and will be involved throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct technical due diligence on acquisition projects.
- Review engineering concepts, project planning and construction progress.
- Identify technical risks and potential issues prior to acquisition.
- Define technical scopes of work for EPC contractors.
- Support EPC negotiations and contractor selection.
- Review engineering and construction approaches.
- Manage technical QA/QC throughout project delivery.
- Monitor EPC execution against technical requirements and quality standards.
- Act as the key technical interface between internal teams and external EPC contractors.
Experience:
- 3-8 years' experience within renewable energy, ideally utility-scale solar PV.
- Strong understanding of both engineering and construction phases.
- Experience working with or managing EPC contractors.
- Experience with technical due diligence, engineering reviews and/or project delivery.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge contractors where required.
- Fluent German and English.
- Experience with BESS or other utility-scale technologies is advantageous.
