Sustainability Coordinator
Overview
We’re looking for a Sustainability Coordinator to help drive Phoenix ME’s commitment to climate action and sustainable innovation. Reporting to the Sustainability Lead, you’ll play a key role in embedding sustainability across our projects and operations, from reducing embodied carbon and improving energy performance to supporting responsible sourcing and green certifications. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your expertise across all aspects of environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy while helping us position Phoenix ME as an industry leader in sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project teams in meeting sustainability goals and ensuring compliance with client, legal, and internal requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in developing and implementing carbon and sustainability strategies, setting measurable outcomes and tracking progress.
- Gather and verify sustainability data from suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams for internal reporting and client submissions.
- Support embodied carbon assessments for MEP systems, including data collection and analysis using relevant tools.
- Create and analyse thermal models, calculating operational energy consumption where required.
- Research client sustainability requirements and tailor approaches to meet project-specific goals.
- Stay informed on emerging sustainability trends, legislation, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Phoenix ME’s internal ESG strategy, supporting the Senior Leadership Team.
What we are looking for
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisational abilities.
- A basic understanding of the construction industry and built environment.
- Confident in using Microsoft 365, with strong administrative and IT skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline (desirable).
- Knowledge of environmental design, building physics, or sustainability legislation (desirable).
