Project Manager & HSEQ Coordinator - Solar & Renewable

The business is focused on renewable and low-emission energy projects, including solar, hybrid energy systems, and integration with industrial operations.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Solar & Renewable Energy System
-Provide technical expertise for commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems and hybrid renewable energy projects.
-Review and validate solar PV layouts, equipment selection, and system performance.
-Support grid connection applications, testing, commissioning, and compliance activities.
-Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during project execution and operation.
-Monitor emerging renewable technologies and recommend improvements or innovations where applicable.
Project Coordination & Delivery
-Support the successful delivery of renewable energy projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
-Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely project execution.
-Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.
-Monitor project progress and identify technical risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
-Ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time and within project requirements.
Stakeholder & Contractor Management
-Liaise with internal departments including engineering, HSE, procurement, operations, and commercial teams.
-Coordinate with external stakeholders including contractors, consultants, network operators, and regulatory authorities.
-Participate in technical meetings, site inspections, and project progress reviews.
-Provide technical support during procurement and contractor evaluation processes.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)
-Demonstrate strong safety leadership and ensure compliance with Perdaman and legislative HSE requirements.
-Ensure site activities comply with WHS legislation, environmental approvals, and project-specific management plans.
-Promote a strong safety culture across all project participants.
-Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are implemented and maintained.
-Regular site visits and compliance audits across both installation teams.
-Coordination and review of SWMS, JSAs, pre-starts and toolbox meetings.
-Monitoring working-at-heights, electrical and BESS safety requirements.
-Maintaining training, competency, licence and compliance registers.
-Incident, near-miss and corrective-action management.
-Quality inspections, defects and installation compliance.
-Monthly HSQ reporting, trends and improvement actions.
-Supporting commercial-project and client-specific HSQ requirements.
Requirements
Essential Experience
-Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in electrical engineering within renewable energy, solar, or power infrastructure projects.
-Proven experience in the design and delivery of commercial or utility-scale solar PV projects.
-Experience with electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, protection systems, and grid connection works.
-Demonstrated ability to coordinate engineering activities across multiple stakeholders and contractors.
Skills & Competencies
-Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and renewable energy systems.
-Knowledge of solar PV systems, grid connection requirements, and power infrastructure.
-Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
-Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
-High level of organisation and attention to detail.
Qualifications, Certification or License
-Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering.
-Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419).
-General Construction Induction Card.
-Chartered Engineer or eligibility for professional accreditation desirable.
-SAA Accreditation Certification for PV Design desirable.
-Current and valid Australian driver’s license.
