Our client is a leading, global, financial services firm. We are working with their independent, climate-focussed growth equity investment fund who are looking to hire an experienced investor into the team to drive forwards deployment.
The fund seeks to invest growth equity into innovative, fast growing, businesses that will offer compelling financial returns and catalyze meaningful climate change mitigation. The team invests in themes including power, mobility, sustainable food & agriculture and circular economy themes across Europe and North America. It is a unique opportunity to join in the first fund of this strategy with capital to deploy and a demonstrable ability to win the most exciting deals in this space. Joining the lean structure early on, there is significant headroom to grow and the ability to play a critical role in the fund's expansion.

What the job involves
- Manage all aspects of an investment, including origination, execution, structuring, negotiation and management
- Oversee thematic research within key climate themes
- Review financial models, lead the preparation of investment memos, and present opportunities to the investment committee
- Lead due diligence efforts on prospective investments (e.g., commercial, climate impact, ESG, financial, tax, legal, etc.)
- Lead negotiations of legal transaction documentation
- Support portfolio companies throughout the hold period (including the execution and monitoring of sustainable value add initiatives)
- Lead and mentor team of junior professionals in and outside the investment process
- Contribute to LP investor-related activities (e.g., pitches, updates, client service requests, etc)
- Extensive investment experience in private equity or growth equity is essential
- Prior experience in Investment banking or consultancy is highly desirable
- Demonstrable intellectual curiosity in developing knowledge of growth equity, technology, and its impact on the climate
- Self-motivated team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Additional European language would be highly beneficial
