The Senior Project Developer will play a central role in advancing distributed energy projects from early-stage origination through contract execution. This position operates at the intersection of business development, technical design, and financial structuring, requiring both strategic insight and hands-on execution.
Working closely with executive leadership, this individual will help shape development strategy while independently managing complex opportunities across the full project lifecycle. The role is well-suited for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable navigating both client-facing and internal coordination responsibilities.
What You’ll Do
- Drive project origination efforts by identifying, engaging, and developing relationships with commercial and industrial stakeholders
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned with strategic growth priorities
- Lead projects through the full development lifecycle, from initial concept through executed agreements
- Structure and present comprehensive clean energy solutions, including solar and storage investments
- Develop financial models and investment analyses to support client decision-making
- Coordinate with engineering, finance, and delivery teams to align technical feasibility, cost assumptions, and execution plans
- Manage timelines, stakeholders, and key milestones to maintain deal momentum and ensure successful outcomes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing guidance on complex energy investment decisions
- Translate client objectives into actionable internal requirements and ensure seamless transition into project execution
- Contribute to the refinement of development processes, tools, and go-to-market strategies
- Support strategic initiatives including market expansion, partnership development, and innovation in financing structures
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to overall team development and performance improvement
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in clean energy development, distributed generation, or infrastructure project development
- Demonstrated success originating and closing complex, multi-party energy or infrastructure deals
- Strong understanding of energy markets, project economics, and distributed energy systems such as solar and storage
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities, including investment analysis and project valuation
- Experience structuring and negotiating agreements such as PPAs, EPC contracts, or development agreements
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, utilities, and permitting processes, particularly within California markets
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers
Salary Range: $150-180k + Bonus
