Job Title: Dock Supervisor

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas. The Dock Supervisor is responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, indirect materials, finished goods, and machinery to meet production schedules.

The Dock Supervisor also has responsibility for parts inventory, accuracy, and stock levels in a way that ensures optimal performance for the department in terms of stock outs, cost, and cycle count accuracy. The individual has accountabilities for the performance and results of a team and will work closely with internal and external key stakeholders focusing to support manufacturing/dock activities and best business practices. The supervisor is responsible for adapting departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures, and business plans.

Essential Duties:

  • Directs the receipts, storage, movement, and shipping of products.
  • Fosters a collaborative team environment to maximize team’s abilities and experiences.
  • Creates and tracks performance against KPI’s to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure the timely flow of materials within an established timeframe.
  • Makes recommendations for process improvements to streamline processes and control costs.
  • Develops and monitors inventory control systems to ensure adequate supply and sufficient movement of materials.
  • Hire, train, develop, engage, and motivate to drive accountability amongst team members while driving continuous improvement (mistake proofing, lean manufacturing strategies, FTQ), positive and safe working environment, and operational excellence (quality, cost, and delivery)
  • Additional projects as needed to support SCM organization.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Basic/Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Material Management or similar field strongly preferred

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience supervising and related experience with warehouse management, inventory management, and receiving and distribution processes
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of WMS and/or ERP Systems
  • Previous experience directing warehouse operations in the manufacturing/warehousing industry.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and influence employees.
  • Strong change management skills with the ability to learn and implement Lean Management principles and concepts.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience supervising and related experience with warehouse management, inventory management, and receiving and distribution processes
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
  • Extensive experience with supply chain management and performance metrics
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
