This Opportunity:

Palladium is looking for a Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Senior Officer (Maternity Cover) based in the UK to work on the Investments in Forests and Sustainable Land Use Programme – Phase 2 programme funded by UK International Development. As the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Associate (UK), you will support the delivery of programme communications both internally and externally, and the engagement of key stakeholders

This is an initial 12-14 month role with an anticipated start date of March 2026. The position will be based out of the Bristol or London Palladium office and report to the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Lead, who is based in Bristol. The Associate will also work closely with a team of Regional Communications Leads who will support on the delivery of regional programme communications activities. 

Programme Context

The second phase of Partnerships for Forests (P4F) is the flagship programme in the Nature Based Capital and Climate, Environment and Natural Resources practice area at Palladium. Building on the strong foundations of P4F (which ran from 2015 to 2024), the second phase will catalyse investment into inclusive, sustainable businesses, that support growth and livelihoods, and protect and restore forests, ensuring that value flows back to forest-based communities and smallholder farmers across the tropical belt. The programme will operate in five globally important forest regions: East Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, West Africa and Central Africa, with a strengthened focus on the latter in this new phase of operations. In all regions, the programme aims to foster long-term sustainability, prosperity and resilience in local economies.

P4F will run for 5 years from 1 February 2025. Depending on performance and subject to funding, the programme may be extended for a further 5 years (up to 2035). The second phase of P4F is funded by the UK government and is one of several activities that sit within the broader Investments in Forests and Sustainable Land Use (IFSLU) Programme. 

Key Responsibilities 

The Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Senior Officer will support the delivery of day-to-day internal and external communications and stakeholder engagement activities and, specifically, will: 

  • S upport the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Lead in maintaining the programme brand and ensuring the consistent use of brand assets.
  • Help develop strong and engaging communications and knowledge products including films, blogs, articles, press releases, and reports to help convey compelling stories and programme results.
  • Support the design and co-ordination of in-person and online events, including global and regional forums, webinars and roundtables. Responsibilities include managing invites, developing communication collateral, and coordinating with third-party vendors.
  • Lead on the maintenance of the Programme’s dedicated website, LinkedIn account and other digital channels which represent core communications channels for the programme and support the development of digital products.
  • Help to build and maintain systems and processes to effectively manage relationships with existing and new external stakeholders and their ongoing engagement with the Programme;
  • Create, plan and measure effective email communications campaigns and improve the quality of existing contact data in line with GDPR requirements;
  • Help maintain the knowledge hub, a central resource for information and communications products for the different regions and sectors of the Programme and coordinate with the Regional Communications and
  • Stakeholder Engagement team;
  • Support the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Lead on the delivery of programme reports including the Inception Report and Annual Reports;
  • Coordinate in-person and online meetings with internal and external programme stakeholders;
  • Deliver communications about grant funding and other opportunities under the Programme;
  • Working with the Global Communications Team to disseminate programme communications through Palladium’s communications channels;
  • Support on the development and delivery of the Programme Learning Agenda;
  • Support the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Lead in carrying out the annual consultation process (including surveys);
  • Support the delivery and response to reputational risk activities;
  • Support the delivery of communications activities for other climate on nature initiatives at Palladium where there is a need and capacity to do so; and,
  • Any other duties reasonably required by the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Lead.

Essential

Experience and Attributes

  • Strong experience in communications and outreach and stakeholder engagement;
  • An excellent communicator who is able to build strong working relationships both internally and externally;
  • Demonstrated ability to unpack and communicate complex concepts simply with a range of stakeholders in multi-cultural settings;
  • Competent at copywriting for different channels;
  • Good knowledge of digital channels and tailoring content to their requirements;
  • Good understanding of email marketing and website analytics to track campaign results and report on KPIs;
  • Good knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO) to drive traffic to website content;
  • Strong in use of MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel;
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills – ability to manage multiple projects comfortably
  • Able to work within a fast-paced team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality communications products
  • Commitment to promoting sustainability, equity, and inclusion in Communications and Stakeholder Engagement.

Desirable

  • Experience working on sustainable forestry, climate change, sustainable land use sector projects.
  • Video production and editing skills.
  • Graphic and digital design skills and familiarity with document management, content management and web-based design (e.g. InDesign)
  • Proficient in written and spoken Spanish, Portuguese, French or Bahasa language.
