Details
The Deputy Director – Urban Planning will be appointed on a contract basis under PPS-8 by the Ministry of Climate Change (MOCC). The role supports planning and implementation of urban development and climate-resilient initiatives in Islamabad, working closely with project teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support planning and execution of urban planning and climate-resilient projects
- Prepare urban development plans, reports, and technical documents
- Coordinate with government departments, consultants, and stakeholders
- Assist in monitoring project timelines, outputs, and compliance
- Contribute to policy inputs related to sustainable urban development
- Support data collection, GIS/urban analysis, and reporting
- Assist in procurement, documentation, and progress reporting
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban & Regional Planning, Architecture, Environmental Planning, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years relevant professional experience
- Experience in government or development sector projects preferred
- Knowledge of urban planning tools, GIS, and reporting frameworks
- Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills
- Competitive PPS-8 government project pay
- Hands-on role in climate-resilient urban development
- Work with national-level stakeholders
- Career growth in public sector planning projects
