Join the Team Bringing Better Wine Packaging to Market

Packamama is expanding, and we are looking for a Sales Manager with strong commercial instincts and solid wine industry experience. This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys relationship-building, business development, and guiding opportunities all the way through to conversion.

If you understand how UK wine works, are comfortable engaging directly with customers, and have the confidence to pick up the phone and move opportunities forward, we’d love to speak with you.

What We’re Looking For

A Confident, Capable Seller

Someone who enjoys proactive outreach, can create meaningful conversations, and feels comfortable engaging with customers at all levels, from producers to retailers.

Wine Industry Knowledge

Ideally, you have worked within the wine trade and understand the landscape: suppliers, distributors, contract bottlers, agency partners, and key decision-makers.

Experience With Major Retailers (Top 4 Preferred)

You should have experience speaking with or supporting conversations with buyers at one or more of the UK’s major grocery retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, ASDA, or Morrisons.

This helps ensure you understand retailer expectations, timelines, and commercial processes.

Commercial Maturity (NAM-Level Mindset)

Someone comfortable discussing pricing, margins, forecasts, supply chain considerations, and retail activation and able to shape a compelling proposal.

About the Role

In this position, you will:

  • Build and nurture relationships across producers, distributors, and retailers
  • Lead proactive outreach to develop new opportunities
  • Guide projects from first conversation to commercial agreement
  • Manage your pipeline with discipline and clarity in Salesforce
  • Support customer meetings, tastings, trade events, and site visits
  • Prepare proposals, follow-ups, and commercial documentation
  • Work closely with the senior team on high-value strategic accounts

This role suits someone who is proactive, organised, and comfortable progressing opportunities personally rather than delegating them.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years in wine, beverage, packaging, or FMCG sales
  • Understanding of the UK wine market and its key players
  • Experience interacting with major UK retailers
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Confident initiating, following up, and maintaining commercial momentum
  • An interest in sustainability and innovation in packaging
  • Willingness to travel for meetings and trade events

What We Offer

  • A meaningful role in a mission-led climate-tech company
  • Opportunity to influence how sustainable packaging scales internationally
  • Close collaboration with senior leadership
  • A supportive and dynamic workplace in one of London’s most innovative hubs
  • Clear opportunities for growth as our commercial team expands
