We are looking for a Fermentation Scientist - Intern (m/f/x) to join us in harnessing the power of fermentation technology to create the most sustainable, healthy, and tasty alternative protein products! The role:

You will work with our scientific R&D team, supporting weekly standard operations of our upstream and downstream fermentation process. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in bioprocessing workflows while contributing to a dynamic team.


Your main tasks:

  • Assist in bioprocess optimisation of the end-to-end fermentation and downstream process
  • Assist in shake flask and bioreactor setup, operation, data acquisition, and processing
  • Assist in media preparation, microbiology tasks, and analytical assays
  • Ensure all materials and equipment are properly prepared and maintained for production runs


What you need to succeed in this role:

  • Background in Bioprocess engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related subjects with proven practical lab experience
  • Ability to work independently and strong problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience in bioreactor operation and bioprocess documentation 
  • Basic practical knowledge of analytical methods
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus, but not required


Additional skills/ qualities that will be useful:

  • Flexibility to work as part of a dynamic team
  • Experience with bioprocess scale-up and process optimization is a plus
  • Hands-on and proactive mindset
