Position Overview
We are looking for a capable, self-motivated Electrical Engineer I or Electrical EIT II (based on qualifications and experience) to join our Chattanooga team. You will design lighting, power distribution, and low-voltage systems under senior guidance while progressively taking on greater project responsibility, mentoring junior staff, and directly contributing to successful outcomes for clients and high-profile commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Leads document production using Revit software and ensures coordination with other building systems and consultants.
- Supports the preparation of construction documents as a whole; including drawings, details, sequences, schematics and specifications.
- Performs load calculations using industry-standard software
- Performs engineering calculations such as photometrics, branch circuit, feeder and panel sizing.
- Communicates design requirements with architects, contractors, and equipment sales representatives
- Trains and mentors EIT I, co-ops and interns
- Accompanies senior design staff to conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and support project execution
- Reviews contractor construction submittals and shop drawings to determine conformance with contract documents.
- Collaborates with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines
- Stays informed on industry trends, upcoming technologies, energy efficient strategies, and sustainability practices. Actively attends training and educational opportunities to obtain knowledge in technical areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- FE Registration with potential for PE licensure
- Proficiency in Revit
- Experience with lighting calculation software, Visual, Dialux, AIG, etc
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
- Familiarity with relevant building codes and standards
- Clear written and oral communication skills – ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
