Project Manager - Commercial & Industrial Solar PV

Berkshire (office based, with regular site visits across the South)

Up to £50,000 plus package

A well established, family owned solar PV, battery storage and EV charging specialist is looking for a Project Manager to take ownership of its commercial installations.

Operating for over 15 years with thousands of systems delivered across the South of England, they run everything in house, from technical survey and design through to installation, commissioning and aftercare. Commercial projects typically range from 50 kWp rooftop arrays up to multi megawatt schemes across warehousing, cold storage, manufacturing, care homes, hotels, education, agriculture and local authority sites.

You would be the person who takes a signed contract and turns it into a working, handed over system.

What you will be doing

  • Owning commercial solar PV and battery projects end to end, from contract award through to client handover
  • Building and holding the programme, managing procurement, scheduling installers and coordinating subcontractors including scaffold, roofing, electrical and craneage
  • Running DNO applications and grid connection paperwork (G98 and G99) alongside the design team
  • Producing and reviewing RAMS, running site inductions and owning health and safety and CDM compliance on site
  • Acting as the day to day contact for the client, keeping them informed on progress, variations and any programme changes
  • Managing project costs against budget and flagging risk early
  • Overseeing commissioning, snagging, handover documentation and the transition into aftercare

What they are looking for

  • Project management experience in commercial solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, M&E, building services or electrical contracting
  • Comfortable running multiple live sites at once and holding subcontractors to programme
  • Working knowledge of CDM, RAMS and site health and safety, ideally with SMSTS or SSSTS and a CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Confident client facing manner, able to deal with FDs, estates teams and facilities managers as easily as with installers on a roof
  • Organised, calm under pressure and happy to get on site rather than manage from a desk
  • Full UK driving licence

What is on offer

  • Up to £50,000 depending on experience
  • A technically respected, fully accredited installer with a strong reference list, so you are delivering work you can stand behind
  • Everything delivered in house, meaning genuine control over quality rather than chasing third party contractors
  • Permanent, full time role in a stable, close knit team with a real pipeline of commercial work
