About Othello International
Othello International Co., Ltd. is a Bangkok-based bilingual ESG advisory and regulatory translation firm. We are the institutional language and advisory partner Thailand's listed corporates trust for the work that has to be exactly right — annual reports, sustainability reports, 56-1 One Reports, EIA submissions, and the ESG disclosure work that international capital markets and Thai regulators now require.
Founded in 2014, we have spent more than a decade serving over 100 SET-listed companies through legal, certified translation, and corporate sustainability work. In 2025–2026, we have made deliberate, capital-backed commitments to transition from translation services for ESG outputs into a full bilingual ESG advisory practice. Three credentials anchor our institutional standing:
• Direct engagement with DLA Piper UK on the UK PACT-funded Carbon Pricing Analytical Report for Thailand's Department of Climate Change and Environment.
• Awarded interpretation services for the European Commission High-Level Business Delegation Mission to Bangkok, via GOPA Com (Brussels).
• Confidential bilingual translation of cross-border regulatory submissions for Gulf Energy Development PCL on the Pak Beng Hydropower Project (912 MW, Mekong, Lao PDR).
Our climate practice is led by an ACSAP-certified Climate and Carbon Lead with verification credentials in ISO 14064-1, ISO 14067, and AA1000AS. Our disclosure practice covers FTSE Russell uplift, GRI, IFRS S2, TCFD, and 56-1 One Report drafting. Our translation practice operates from an in-house team to ISO 17100 and ISO 9001:2015 standard, with a twelve-year termbase and translation memory of millions of words across more than a thousand annual reports, sustainability reports, 56-1 One Reports, and EIA submissions.
This is the firm you are joining. We are not a passive translation buyer. We are a deliberately built bilingual advisory practice serving Thailand's listed corporates, international law firms, and donor agencies.
We are hiring a Business Development Manager to lead commercial origination across both practices — ESG Advisory and Regulatory Translation. This is a senior commercial role with full ownership of new-client pipeline development, qualified-lead conversion, and account expansion within Othello's existing 100-plus listed-company client base.
You will be Othello's first dedicated business development hire. You will not be inheriting an existing pipeline; you will be building it — supported by our credentials, our delivery team, and a CEO who will spend significant time with you on key accounts. If you are looking for a role where your effort is the difference between a quiet quarter and a strong one, this is that role.
• Pipeline origination. Build and manage a qualified pipeline of new business across both ESG Advisory (Thai SET-listed corporates, international law firms, donor agencies) and Regulatory Translation (annual report, sustainability report, 56-1, EIA, certified translation buyers).
• Outbound discipline. Conduct outbound outreach to Thai SET-listed company sustainability directors, IR heads, and corporate secretaries. Run discovery calls. Qualify leads against our delivery capacity. Hand qualified opportunities to the appropriate practice lead.
• Proposal delivery. Develop tailored proposals, scopes of work, and commercial responses for prospective clients. Work closely with the ESG practice lead and translation production team to ensure scoping accuracy. Manage proposal cycles end-to-end.
• Account intelligence. Map and prioritise the SET-listed universe by ESG disclosure maturity, FTSE Russell index inclusion, sustainability reporting cycle, and known buying triggers (climate disclosure mandates, 56-1 One Report deadlines, EU CBAM exposure).
• Industry presence. Represent Othello at sustainability and finance industry events in Bangkok — TGO conferences, SET sustainability forums, Thai IOD events, ESG investor briefings. Build the firm's commercial presence in the Thai sustainability community.
• CRM hygiene. Maintain Othello's CRM with discipline. Every account, every conversation, every commitment captured. Pipeline visibility is non-negotiable.
• Existing-client expansion. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within Othello's existing 100-plus client base. Translation clients who would benefit from ESG advisory; ESG clients who would benefit from bilingual production.
• International account support. Work with the CEO on relationships with international clients — law firms, donor agencies, EU institutions — that are introduced through professional networks. Support proposal development and account management for these accounts.
You are likely currently working in business development, sales, or account management at a professional services firm in Bangkok — a Big Four sustainability practice, an ESG consultancy, a corporate finance advisory, a credit rating agency, or a senior in-house IR or sustainability function. You have demonstrably moved revenue through a complex sales cycle involving multiple stakeholders. You are equally credible speaking Thai with a sustainability director at PTT or Central, and English with a partner at DLA Piper or a project manager at GOPA Com.
• Experience. Three to seven years of business development, sales, or commercial origination experience in professional services, sustainability consulting, financial services, or a related institutional B2B context.
• Education. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, environmental studies, communications, or a related field. A relevant Master's degree is welcome but not required.
• Thai and English fluency. Thai is mandatory — you must be a native Thai speaker, or near-native, and you must read and write Thai to a professional standard. This is a Thai company serving Thai clients. Every day, you will speak with Thai sustainability directors, read Thai SET regulatory filings, and write proposals in Thai. Applications without proven Thai fluency will not be considered. English at C1 level or above is the second mandatory language, demonstrated in writing and in client-facing speech.
• ESG literacy. Working knowledge of ESG principles, sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, IFRS S2, TCFD), the SET 56-1 One Report cycle, and FTSE Russell ESG methodology. You do not need to be a practitioner — but you need to be credible in a conversation with one.
• Hunter discipline. Demonstrable track record of building pipeline from a standing start. We need someone comfortable with the discipline of outbound outreach, not someone waiting for inbound leads.
• Analytical rigour. Strong analytical skills — comfortable with market data, pipeline math, proposal economics, and the commercial structure of a professional services engagement.
• Senior presence. Confident, professional presence in front of C-suite stakeholders. Comfortable representing Othello at industry events, in client meetings, and in written commercial correspondence.
• Existing relationships in Thailand's sustainability, IR, or corporate finance community — sustainability heads, IR directors, corporate secretaries, banking ESG teams, audit firm ESG practices.
• Prior experience working with SET-listed companies, ideally on regulatory disclosure, sustainability reporting, or compliance-related engagements.
• Prior experience working with international clients — international law firms, donor agencies, multilateral institutions, foreign chambers of commerce.
• Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent) and proposal management discipline.
