Master Electrician – Solar & BESS Operations Manager

Renewable Energy | Commercial Solar | Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

We are seeking an experienced Master Electrician with strong leadership and renewable energy expertise to lead electrical operations for our growing commercial solar and battery storage division.

This is a major leadership role responsible for overseeing electrical installations, field operations, team management, and supporting utility interconnection, inspections, commissioning, and energization for commercial solar PV and BESS projects throughout the Midwest.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on electrical experience, strong knowledge of commercial solar PV and BESS systems, and the ability to lead crews, manage projects, and coordinate effectively with utilities, AHJs, engineers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical installation, commissioning, and quality control for commercial solar PV and BESS projects

• Manage utility interconnection applications, approvals, inspections, and energization processes

• Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, local electrical codes, utility requirements, and AHJ standards

• Supervise, mentor, and support field crews, clients, and sales team.

• Coordinate with utilities, engineers, project managers, inspectors, and customers throughout project execution.

• Review electrical plans, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and system designs.

• Troubleshoot electrical, commissioning, and interconnection issues for solar and battery storage systems.

• Support permitting, inspections, and AHJ approval processes.

• Maintain project schedules, operational efficiency, and high-quality workmanship standards.

• Lead safety initiatives and uphold company safety culture across all projects.

• Support commissioning and startup of battery storage and hybrid energy systems.

• Travel to project sites across Missouri, Illinois, and the Midwest as needed.

Qualifications:

• Active Master Electrician license required

• 10+ years of electrical experience

• Strong experience with commercial solar PV systems, BESS, and utility interconnections

• Previous supervisory or operations management experience

• Experience with commercial, industrial, and energy storage systems

• Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Experience managing multiple projects and field teams simultaneously

• NABCEP certification preferred but not required

Preferred Experience:

• Utility coordination and interconnection management

• Battery storage installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance

• Hybrid solar + storage systems

• Commercial and industrial electrical systems

• Solar commissioning and troubleshooting

• Multi-project operations management

• Working directly with utilities, AHJs, and engineering teams
