About The Role

As a Client Success Intern at Opower (part of Oracle Energy and Water), you will gain hands-on experience supporting cross-functional teams and utility clients, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and driving business process excellence.

Opower’s mission is to help utilities engage their customers and drive energy efficiency through data analytics, personalized communications, and behavioral science. The Opower platform empowers utility companies to motivate customers to use energy more efficiently, reduce carbon emissions, and save money, all while improving customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

This internship is ideal for students passionate about technology, sustainability, and client engagement who want to contribute to impactful projects while learning from experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a variety of cross-functional meetings (internal and client-facing), collaborating with teams such as Implementation Engineering, Product, and Client Success to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Help coordinate deliverables and action items between teams, ensuring effective communication and timely updates.
  • Contribute to process improvement by identifying bottlenecks, recommending enhancements, and assisting with the design and testing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of materials, data, and presentations for client meetings.
  • Support knowledge management by reviewing and improving documentation, and identifying and implementing best practices.
  • Shadow team members during client interactions to observe effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts by identifying issues and brainstorming or testing solutions in collaboration with your mentor.
  • Take part in training sessions on Opower’s SaaS product suite, Oracle solutions, and the SaaS business model.
  • Explore the use of AI tools (in alignment with Oracle guidelines) and digital platforms to improve team efficiency and client impact.
  • During your final week of the internship, deliver a capstone presentation showcasing your work.


Responsibilities

About You

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Studies, Communications, Humanities, or a related field. Regardless of your major, if you are passionate about how technology can positively impact climate change, this internship is for you!
  • Strong interest in technology, sustainability, process optimization, and/or customer success.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative, collaborative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ready to engage and learn with your Opower mentor(s).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work EST hours and be available onsite at our Arlington, VA office for the full duration of the internship.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from $18.17 - $34.62 per hour; from: $37,800 - $72,000 per year.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  • Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
