Engineering Manager
Building the digital backbone of the energy transition with AI‑first technology
We’re building software that supports the energy transition — helping utilities, grid operators, and energy providers manage increasing complexity through intelligent, modern platforms. Our AI‑first systems replace fragmented processes and legacy tooling with scalable software that improves efficiency, resilience, and sustainability.
Used by customers across multiple European markets and supported by strong institutional backing, the platform is growing rapidly to address challenges in renewable generation, grid intelligence, and energy management.
This role is ideal for an Engineering Manager who enjoys developing people, shaping engineering organisations, and modernising long‑lived, reliability‑critical systems in a regulated, high‑impact domain.
Your Mission
As an Engineering Manager (f/m/d), you play a defining role in how the organisation builds and scales software that underpins modern energy infrastructure.
You are responsible for leading and developing engineering teams, while staying close enough to the technical work to guide quality, architecture, and decision‑making. You balance people leadership, technical excellence, and product thinking, ensuring teams build robust, maintainable systems designed for long‑term impact rather than short‑term delivery pressure.
You collaborate closely with senior engineering leadership, staff‑level engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders from Product and domain teams to evolve architecture, delivery practices, and engineering culture as the organisation scales across Europe.
This position suits a hands‑on Engineering Manager who leads through technical credibility, clarity, and empathy.
What You’ll Do
People Leadership & Engineering Management
Lead, develop, and support high‑performing product engineering teams
Coach engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback cycles, and career development conversations
Create an environment of psychological safety, ownership, and quality awareness
Own performance processes, development planning, and succession thinking
Lead hiring end‑to‑end, from role definition to onboarding and long‑term growth
Technical Leadership
Stay technically involved at a Senior or Staff level when it brings clarity or momentum
Support architectural decisions, system design discussions, and complex code reviews
Own and evolve frontend and cross‑stack engineering standards with a TypeScript‑first mindset
Advocate for maintainability, testing, reliability, and operational excellence
Support cloud‑ and AI‑driven initiatives, including automation, optimisation, and forecasting use cases
Scaling Engineering & Ways of Working
Raise engineering quality standards through role modelling and clear expectations
Drive cross‑team technical initiatives (e.g. platform modernisation, design systems, developer experience, observability)
Improve structures, rituals, and processes to scale engineering sustainably
Reduce complexity and operational risk through better communication and principled decision‑making
Strengthen collaboration between Engineering, Product, and energy‑domain experts
Organisational Impact
Contribute to engineering strategy together with senior technical leadership
Help define how engineering scales — technically, culturally, and organisationally
Translate long‑term energy‑sector goals into pragmatic, executable engineering plans
