Manager, Operations And Systems
Location: Vancouver
OPEN Technologies (or just OPEN) seeks a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Operations & Systems to make the machine hum. We are looking for someone with a commitment to our mission and a passion for organizational development.
The built environment contributes roughly 40% of annual global emissions. Around the world, governments, utilities, capital providers, and portfolio managers are transforming the market forces that shape our cities. OPEN’s data and software tools help drive decarbonization at scale, by providing actionable insights on the best pathways to achieve energy and carbon savings from buildings.

The Manager, Operations & Systems reports to the Chief Executive Officer. Your core focus is the efficient and effective operation of the company to enable it to achieve its ambitious business and impact goals. You are an operationally minded builder, willing to complete a wide range of operational tasks while continually improving our core systems across operational, business development, and product support verticals.
Your day consists of a wide range of operational tasks, system-building, and tracking, including:
Operations (~50% of effort):
- Office management
- Vendor management
- Strategic planning support
- HR systems support (eg. onboarding, scheduling performance reviews, contract support, time allocations)
- Finance team support (eg. AR/AP, IRAP claims)
- Inbound & outbound comms coordination
Business Development (~25% of effort)
- Proposal coordination
- Templates and materials
- Opportunities scanning
Product & Market Research Support (~25% of effort)
- UX research coordination
- Competitor research
- Market drivers research
As an exceptional candidate for this role, you:
- Are strategically structured… able to translate company strategy and market context into an implementable customer success strategy
- Are a passionate operator, focused on the successful operation of OPEN at this stage and as we grow
You also have these qualifications;
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Fluent in English (French is a strong asset).
- Proven experience in operations with a small, growing firm.
- Able to work with minimal oversight
- Strong project management and organizational skills (you know your way abound a G Drive and have opinions on file naming conventions)
- Excellent skills in core software tools such as MS Office, Slack, and Jira.
This position is based out of our Vancouver head office. We run a hybrid schedule with the team typically in office three days per week. We are also very open to conversations about flexible work weeks (eg. 3 or 4 days per week), particularly for candidates who are parents and/or caregivers.
The salary range for this full-time position is $72,000 to $88,000 CAD, commensurate with competency. All OPEN employees are eligible to participate in OPEN’s benefits program after a three month probationary period.
