About OLGE

The Open Library on Green Economy (OLGE) is an India-anchored, globally relevant, nonprofit knowledge initiative designed as a public good. It consolidates sustainability and green economy knowledge that is currently scattered, technical, or behind paywalls, and makes it accessible, neutral, and actionable for students, NGOs, corporates, and policymakers.

OLGE aligns with key national and global priorities, including NMSKCC under the National Action Plan on Climate Change, Mission LiFE, SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The initiative is currently being established as a Section 8 Company with transparent governance and a diversified funding model.

Purpose of the Advisory Board

To guide OLGE’s growth and credibility by offering strategic counsel, strengthening its governance, and supporting its fundraising and partnership-building efforts. Advisory members lend their experience, networks, and sectoral insight to ensure OLGE remains a high-quality, neutral, and globally relevant knowledge institution.

Nature of Engagement

This is an honorary role, intended for individuals who resonate with OLGE’s mission and wish to contribute their expertise to a meaningful, long-term public good. The time commitment is modest, and participation is fully remote.

Time Commitment

• Approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour per month, usually through a short virtual meeting or structured consultation.

• Occasional review of strategic documents or proposals (not mandatory).

Key Responsibilities

Advisory Board Members are not involved in day-to-day operations. Their role is strategic, light-touch, and high-level. Responsibilities include:

  1. Strategic Guidance
  2. Provide periodic advice on OLGE’s direction, governance, partnerships, and long-term institutional evolution.
  3. Credibility & Oversight
  4. Strengthen OLGE’s positioning as a neutral, high-trust, knowledge-driven nonprofit aligned with national climate missions and global SDGs.
  5. Fundraising & Partnerships (Light-Touch Support)
  6. Offer guidance on fundraising strategy, potential donors, grant pathways, institutional collaborations, and industry engagement.
  7. Introductions or endorsements are welcome but never expected or obligatory.
  8. Thought Leadership
  9. Share insights on sustainability, policy, climate knowledge systems, academia, or related domains to guide OLGE’s content and impact strategy.
  10. Ambassadorship
  11. When appropriate, represent OLGE’s vision informally within professional networks, conferences, and sectoral spaces.
What OLGE Provides to Advisors

• A platform to shape a unique, India-led global public good for sustainability education.

• Visibility through attribution as an Advisory Board Member on OLGE’s website and publications.

• Opportunities to contribute to climate literacy, knowledge diplomacy, and green economy transitions.

• Engagement with a multi-stakeholder ecosystem across academia, policy, civil society, and industry.

• Periodic briefings on OLGE’s progress, partnerships, and impact metrics.

Ideal Profile

We welcome senior professionals such as:

• Academics, researchers, and policy experts in sustainability, climate governance, public policy, environment, development, or education.

• Leaders from philanthropy, CSR, international organisations, or mission-driven corporate sectors.

• Former government officers or public-sector experts familiar with national missions, climate policy, or SDG implementation.

• Senior professionals who value impartiality, knowledge access, and public good initiatives.

A genuine belief in OLGE’s mission and a willingness to guide its growth are the most important criteria.

Tenure

• One-year renewable honorary term.

• Withdrawal at any time with a simple written notice.

Ethical Standards
  • OLGE follows strict neutrality, transparency, and conflict-of-interest norms. Advisory Members are not expected to engage in fundraising solicitation or represent OLGE in any contractual capacity.
