External Manufacturing Operation Engineer

Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

onsemi is currently seeking a hands-on Assembly Process Engineer to join our External Manufacturing team with a focus on wire bond processes, preferably with experience in gold to copper wire conversion. In this role, you will leverage your strong expertise in leading cost savings initiative across multiple subcons. This position will report to External Manufacturing Operation Manager and based in ONKL office, Selangor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Experience in developing, implementing & optimizing wire bonding processes for NPI & production devices to achieve yield & quality metric.
• Experience in DOE methodology & tools (Minitab, JMP) to ensure wire bond process robustness & reliability
• Good problem-solving skills, able to identify & resolve wire bonding problems/defects, perform root cause analysis & implement robust corrective actions
• Manage change control processes & documentations, including risk assessment, schedule planning, budget planning.
• Manage effective communication between cross functional team – BU, planning, reliability engineering to drive on-time execution & release of change project
• Adoption of data analytics and data-driven approach to problem solving and decision making
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Wire Bond process and be able to guide/lead team members in problem solving and Best Known Methods (BKM) fanout
• Role could expand into subcon operation management – focus on delivering best-in class subcon performance in quality, yield, delivery
• Drive continuous improvement in subcon’s quality & assembly yield performance
• Accountable for seamless operation in subcon – provide maverick lot disposition & verification
• Other tasks as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• The successful candidate will have, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and or Physics.
• 10+ years of industrial experience in WB process engineering environment.
• Experience with Minitab or JMP Statistical analysis software preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
• Proven ability to identify, assess, and solve problems.
• Experience with project management and multi-stakeholder management
• Experience with data-driven continuous improvement, Six Sigma training preferred.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to manage conflict in a stressful environment.
• Understands and listens to team members and fosters a productive team environment.
• Handles multiple projects and priorities.
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Proficient in advanced techniques with relevant software: MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. in addition to experience working within shared work environments.
