Job Summary:

The Inventory Auditor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of inventory records across the organization. This role conducts physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and variance analysis to support operational efficiency, reduce shrinkage, and strengthen internal controls. The Inventory Auditor works closely with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to identify discrepancies, recommend process improvements, and uphold inventory accuracy standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular physical inventory audits and cycle counts across warehouses and production facilities to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Reconcile physical inventory counts with system records, identify and analyze root causes of variances, and clearly communicate audit results and recommendations to operational leaders and management.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, risk areas, and recommended corrective actions, while maintaining accurate audit documentation in compliance with company policies and internal control requirements.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to resolve inventory discrepancies and enhance inventory processes and workflows.
  • Process audit-related inventory adjustment transactions within onsemi’s inventory systems.
  • Monitor aging inventory and partner with management on disposition strategies, including aging in-transit inventory, work-in-process (WIP), obsolescence (finished goods and wafer/die), partial or residual lots, and consignment inventory.
  • Track frozen inventory lots, assess associated financial impact, and coordinate timely disposition actions.
  • Investigate and manage inventory held in audit banks, negative stock balances, and other inventory exceptions.
  • Participate in testing and validation of new releases of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) such as Camstar and Promis, as well as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), to ensure inventory completeness and accuracy.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Global Cost Accounting, Manufacturing, Business Unit Finance, and Logistics teams to drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy and process reliability.
  • Support compliance with SOX, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements, and collaborate with Corporate Internal Audit during physical inventory audits as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in inventory audits, cycle count programs, inventory control and inventory accuracy KPIs preferred.
  • Background in semiconductor, manufacturing, distribution, or retail environments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of inventory processes, internal controls, and reconciliation principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle); Oracle Fusion experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present findings and collaborate effectively across functions and global teams.
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to learn, grow, and take ownership; high energy and passion for the role.
  • Ability to work independently and build strong relationships with non-local and cross-functional partners.
