Manufacturing Engineer - Controls
Responsibilities
· Accelerate the transition to production.
· Work closely with the Operations and Product Development teams.
· Work instructions and other manufacturing documents.
· Identify and lead cost reduction steps – materials and labor.
· Lead quality improvement efforts.
· Test the functionality of electrical equipment based on system diagrams and test parameters provided by engineers.
· Create conceptual designs for internal test equipment using block diagrams, circuit schematics, and test boards, like breadboards.
· Conduct firmware/electrical testing based on test requirements designed by electrical and software engineers.
· Travel to solar tracker sites to perform troubleshooting, commissioning, retrofitting, and other technical support.
· Review electrical schematic designs, generate bills of material, purchase BOM from various vendors, and assemble the final design.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar.
· At least 3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering, making a similar product.
· Knowledge of electronic product assembly processes and best practices.
· Project management experience.
· Initiative – find the problems and then solve them.
· Based in the Phoenix area.
· Knowledge of solar energy technology a plus but not a requirement.
· Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
