Lead Frontend Developer (Remote First) – ClimateTech Startup


A mission-driven ClimateTech startup is looking for a Lead Frontend Developer to help build technology that directly contributes to tackling climate change. The Role

  • Lead the design and development of a modern frontend platform
  • Build high-quality, scalable user interfaces using React
  • Manage, mentor, and support frontend engineers as the team grows
  • Work closely with product, design, and data teams to deliver intuitive and impactful features
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy
  • Help establish best practices across testing, performance, and maintainability


What They’re Looking For

  • Strong experience building modern web applications with React
  • Proven experience leading or managing engineers
  • Ability to balance hands-on development with technical leadership
  • Experience building scalable frontend architectures
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset


Nice to Have

  • Experience working with GIS or geospatial libraries
  • Exposure to mapping technologies or spatial data visualisation
  • Startup or high-growth environment experience
