Lead DevOps Engineer - Climate Tech - London / Cambridge


We're looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join a fast-growing climate tech company shaping the future of energy planning. Working directly with the CTO, you’ll bring structure and scalability to a growing AWS platform - setting standards, driving automation, and making key architectural decisions.


This role is for someone who enjoys bringing order to messy cloud environments and moving platforms forward, not just maintaining them.


What you’ll do

  • Own and evolve Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation)
  • Standardise and modernise a mixed AWS environment
  • Lead containerised deployments (ECS + Fargate)
  • Build and improve CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
  • Plan and execute PostgreSQL & DynamoDB migrations
  • Improve security, reliability, cost awareness, and developer experience
  • Evaluate platforms and guide architectural decisions


What you bring

  • 3+ years DevOps / Platform experience
  • Strong AWS (ECS, Fargate, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
  • Solid IaC, Docker, and CI/CD experience
  • Experience migrating infrastructure and data
  • Clear communicator who asks the right discovery questions


Nice to have: Terraform, Kubernetes, SRE, DataDog/Grafana, FinOps.
