What we do. Electric Car Leasing
Why we do it. Greener. Fairer. Future.
We are a market-leading, mission-driven organisation focused on accelerating the transition to a net-zero economy through innovative financing solutions. As we enter a significant period of growth, we are scaling our Capital Markets team to support our increasingly sophisticated funding requirements.
As the lead deal principal in the Capital Markets team, you will be responsible for helping source, structure and execute the key funding lines for Octopus Electric Vehicles' substantial and rapidly growing fleet of electric vehicles. This senior role requires a deep understanding of structured finance, securitisation, and debt markets, combined with the ability to helpmanage relationships with institutional investors, banks, and rating agencies. You will be instrumental in helping to optimising our capital structure to support our continued growth and maintain our competitive advantage in the electric vehicle leasing market.
This is a unique opportunity to join the Capital Markets team in one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most disruptive companies in the e-mobility sector. You will play a crucial role in helping secure and structure the funding required to accelerate the UK’s switch to electric transport. We offer a dynamic, entrepreneurial culture and the chance to make a real-world impact on climate change.
What You'll Do
Deal Execution: Help lead the execution of different funding lines for the Capital Markets team, focusing on asset-backed securitisation (ABS) and other structured debt financing solutions for the EV fleet.
Securitisation funding: Originate, structure and execute securitisation facilities (both public and private), building on what we have in place currently to ensure consistent and cost-effective funding.
Investor Relations: Help develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with a range of institutional investors (e.g., banks, insurance companies, asset managers, pension funds), rating agencies, and service providers.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the broader team and business heads to align funding activities with overall business goals, financial reporting, legal and compliance requirements.
Transaction Documentation: Responsible for transaction legal documentation and negotiations with investors. This will include working with external legal counsel and reviewing all transaction documentation.
Performance Monitoring & Compliance: Monitoring and supporting compliance with transaction covenants, performance triggers and transaction reporting requirements.
What You'll Need
Are you ready for a career with us? We want to ensure you have all the tools and environment you need to unleash your potential. Need any specific accommodations? Whether you require specific accommodations or have a unique preference, let us know, and we'll do what we can to customise your interview process for comfort and maximum magic!
Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. As an equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected attribute. Our commitment is to provide equal opportunities, an inclusive work environment, and fairness for everyone.
Where necessary, we sometimes use AI tools to help with parts of our hiring process, like reviewing applications or assessing responses. We’re lucky to receive a huge amount of interest, so these tools help our recruiters manage that volume, not replace them. Ultimately, every hiring decision (for example, whether to progress your application or not) is always made by a real person in our Talent team. If you’d like to know more about how we use your data, you can reach out to us via email at [email protected]. We’re happy to help!
