Role Description

​We’re looking for a Senior Operations Analyst who thrives at the intersection of data, operations, and energy markets. In this role, you will be a critical contributor to our operational strategy, transforming complex datasets into impactful insights, shaping regulatory compliance, and helping scale our flexibility assets across Europe. 


​This is an ideal position for someone analytical, curious, and motivated by purpose-driven work. You’ll work cross‑functionally with Operations, Development, Commercial, and Client teams, influencing decisions that directly contribute to the UK and Europe’s net‑zero transition.

​Main purpose of the role 

​OakTree Power is looking for someone who has an interest in the energy and renewable sector, particularly in sustainability and net-zero goals. With a minimum of five years’ experience in flexibility markets, including DSO tenders and balancing services, the role will support the execution of OakTree Power’s energy strategy through data-driven insights, operational analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role will work closely with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to translate complex data and market requirements into clear, actionable outcomes.

​Principal Skills & Experience 

​Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • ​Analyse energy and operational data across diverse client portfolios, identifying trends and optimisation opportunities. 
  • ​Strengthen compliance with UK and EU energy regulations (Ofgem, EU regulatory bodies) and flexibility programme requirements. 
  • ​Drive process improvement across operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and consistency as we scale. 
  • ​Work with internal teams to align operational priorities with strategic business goals. 
  • ​Produce insightful performance, compliance, and risk reports that support decision‑making at leadership level. 
  • ​Support cross‑functional projects, including new market expansion and operational automation. 
  • ​Partner with Development and Project Management teams to ensure operational readiness for new solutions and tenders. 
  • ​Contribute to the evolution of best‑practice processes for a high‑growth, climate‑tech environment. 
  • ​Complete administrative duties

​Job Requirements and Skills 

​Essential: 


  • ​Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Energy Management. 
  • ​3 - 5 years’ experience in operational support, data analysis, or energy/industrial sector roles. 
  • ​Understanding of energy regulatory frameworks and operational compliance requirements. 
  • ​Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in Excel and Power BI (or equivalent tools). 
  • ​Ability to work with complex datasets, identify trends, and support process improvement. 

​Desirable: 


  • ​Exposure to energy efficiency, demand flexibility, or multi-site operational environments. 
  • ​Experience with SQL, Python, or workflow automation. 
  • ​Familiarity with UK/EU energy market operations, capacity market rules, or DNO procedures. 
  • ​Certifications such as Power BI, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Energy Management. 

​Skills and Attributes 

  • ​Exceptional analytical ability and attention to detail. 
  • ​Strong oral and written communication abilities 
  • ​Strong understanding of energy regulatory compliance and operational procedures. 
  • ​Ability to translate complex data into actionable operational and compliance insights. 
  • ​Process-oriented mindset, capable of identifying inefficiencies and driving improvement. 
  • ​Collaborative and clear communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills. 
  • ​Comfortable with complexity, ambiguity, and cross-functional problem-solving. 
  • ​Proactive, curious, and motivated to learn and grow within the energy sector 
  • ​Proficiency in English + European languages
