Duties Description

The Division of Resiliency and Sustainability (R&S) provides technical assistance and policy guidance to State agencies and authorities to meet New York's climate goals. R&S is working to support multiple State initiatives including the conversion of the light-duty, non-emergency fleet to 100% zero-emission vehicles by 2035, a statewide 85% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, and adaptation of state assets and operations to the increasing impacts of climate change. To support the 100% zero-emission vehicle goal, R&S leads implementation of fleet conversion planning across State agencies and oversees the buildout and operations of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Type of work to be performed, typical schedule:

  • Event planning: Support with logistics and programming for an electric vehicle event for New York State government employees, executive leadership, industry groups, and community organizations.
  • Data analysis: Assist with monitoring and evaluation of charging station utilization and electric vehicle conversion in the New York State fleet.
  • Outreach and education: Develop training materials, informational resources, case studies, and reports related to electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, and renewable diesel.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a currently enrolled as a SUNY Junior - Graduate student to apply.
