NUWARD, an EDF subsidiary, is dedicated to developing the Group’s small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). NUWARD is designing a multi-energy platform capable of delivering low-carbon, competitive electricity and heat to meet the needs of industry and cities.
Our SMR, known as the “NUWARD_SMR”, features a simple, modular, and prefabricated design, drawing on the proven technologies and expertise of the existing nuclear fleet.

You will report to the Head of Requirement & Front Office.
You will take in charge the identification, assessment and preparation of NUWARD target sites, from multi-criteria screening to early investigations, regulatory mapping and tender support.
Your mission will include:
Defining and deploying a multi-criteria site selection methodology (technical, regulatory, environmental, grid, land);
Consolidating international site data in coordination with the International Directorate and key stakeholders;
Producing robust country/site characterisation factsheets and decision-ready synthesis;
Defining early investigation needs for shortlisted/reference sites with engineering partners;
Structuring and monitoring internal and external contributions and deliverables for pre-site studies;
Coordinating ongoing field investigations on the FOAK reference site;
Challenging NUWARD generic SMR requirements against real site constraints; identifying gaps, adaptations and standardisation opportunities;
Mapping and comparing licensing/authorisation pathways across target countries; identifying prerequisites, watchpoints and schedule impacts.
Preparing steering committees and progress updates.
? Job based in Lyon with frequent trips to other NUWARD sites and abroad.
Your profile:
Job position / ranking Confirmed engineer / officer (minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience).
You hold an engineering degree or an equivalent degree.
You will have proven experience in:
Site selection, site preparation and/or early site investigations for complex industrial projects (ideally nuclear/energy);
Multi-criteria assessment, data consolidation and production of decision-support documentation;
Coordination of internal/external stakeholders and management of technical deliverables;
Understanding and mapping of regulatory frameworks and authorisation processes;
Strong MS Office skills (Excel);
Power BI and GIS are a plus.
Fluency in written and spoken French is essential; professional English is required.
