The Senior Manager – ESG will be responsible for driving the execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company’s CSR programs in line with the approved strategy and annual operating plan. The role focuses on delivering measurable social impact through effective project management, partner oversight, and governance controls.


The incumbent will ensure ESG initiatives are implemented on time, within budget, and in compliance with statutory requirements, while aligning with business priorities and stakeholder expectations. The role will also support data coordination, sustainability reporting (BRSR), and cross-functional engagement to strengthen responsible business practices across the organization.


1. ESG & CSR Strategy Integration and Program Leadership

  • Translate the organization’s ESG and CSR strategy into annual operating plans with clearly defined budgets, timelines, and measurable ESG-aligned targets.
  • Drive end-to-end execution of ESG and CSR initiatives, ensuring alignment with environmental, social, and governance priorities.
  • Embed ESG principles (climate action, resource efficiency, social inclusion, ethical governance) into program design and delivery.
  • Coordinate with implementation partners to ensure timely rollout and achievement of sustainability-linked milestones.
  • Track monthly and quarterly progress against ESG KPIs, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Ensure robust on-ground monitoring through field visits, ESG audits, and structured governance review mechanisms.

2. Stakeholder Engagement, Partnerships & ESG Ecosystem Building

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard NGO and implementation partners through ESG-aligned due diligence frameworks.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, industry platforms, and community stakeholders to drive collective ESG impact.
  • Engage internal leadership and cross-functional teams to embed ESG considerations into business and operational decision-making.
  • Facilitate periodic partner reviews, performance evaluations, and capacity-building initiatives aligned with ESG goals.
  • Represent the organization in ESG and sustainability forums, industry platforms, and partnerships to enhance thought leadership and impact visibility.

3. ESG Monitoring, Impact Measurement & Data Analytics

  • Develop and maintain ESG dashboards to track financial utilization, environmental and social outputs, and long-term outcomes.
  • Define ESG-aligned KPIs, impact measurement frameworks, and outcome indicators (e.g., carbon reduction, livelihood generation, diversity metrics).
  • Support third-party impact assessments and ESG audits by coordinating data collection, validation, and documentation.
  • Leverage data analytics to generate actionable insights, enabling continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making.

4. ESG Reporting, Disclosures & Sustainability Frameworks

  • Ensure accurate, timely, and auditable data submission for ESG disclosures and statutory CSR reporting requirements.
  • Support preparation of sustainability and integrated reports aligned with global frameworks such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
  • Assist in preparing Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reports (BRSR) in compliance with Securities and Exchange Board of India requirements and Companies Act CSR provisions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional ESG data collection processes to enhance transparency, consistency, and data integrity.

5. ESG Compliance, Risk Management & Governance

  • Ensure all ESG and CSR initiatives comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and voluntary standards.
  • Strengthen governance frameworks by integrating ESG risk identification, mitigation, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for ESG audits, board reporting, and statutory filings.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and secretarial teams for ESG-linked spend tracking, governance approvals, and disclosures.
  • Monitor evolving ESG regulations, ratings methodologies, and global best practices to continuously enhance policies and programs.

6. ESG Communication, Culture & Thought Leadership

  • Promote ESG awareness internally to foster a culture of sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility across the organization.
  • Develop high-quality ESG communication materials, including sustainability reports, leadership presentations, and stakeholder updates.
  • Showcase ESG success stories, impact narratives, and case studies to strengthen brand reputation and stakeholder trust.
  • Support external ESG ratings, rankings, and investor communications to position the organization as a responsible and sustainable business leader.
