About Number 8 bio

Methane is the "fast lever" of climate change. It’s 80x more potent than CO2, and 2.6 billion cows and sheep are belching it out every single day. At Number 8 Bio, we’ve figured out how to stop that – by developing methane inhibiting products for cattle and sheep.


We’re a VC-backed team of scientists and innovators turning wasted methane into animal performance (good for farmers ? good for the planet). We’re moving from the lab to the market, and we need a Head of Marketing to tell the world how we’re going to save the planet, one paddock at a time.


The Role: Chief Storyteller & Brand Architect

This isn’t about managing a brand guidelines PDF. This is about building a category-defining brand from the ground up. You’ll sit at the intersection of deep tech, climate-conscious livestock farming, and global impact.


You’ll report to the Chief Growth Officer, work closely with our CEO, and have the keys to the kingdom. One day, you’re simplifying complex enteric fermentation science for a pitch deck; the next, you’re in the weeds with a producer, figuring out what makes them tick to develop our latest case study.


You will:

  • Own the Narrative: Take our "Deep Tech" and turn it into "Deep Impact." Make our mission unignorable for farmers, investors, and corporate partners.
  • Architect the GTM: We’re moving into commercialisation. You’ll help design the communications roadmap for how we show up, scale, and win.
  • Build the Engine: From LinkedIn thought leadership to high-stakes investor collateral and our digital footprint, you’re the one making sure every touchpoint screams "The Future of Agriculture."
  • Bridge the Gap: Translate "methanogenesis inhibition" into "better margins for farmers." You are the bridge between the lab and the farm gate.


Who You Are

  • A Generalist with Edge: You have 7+ years of experience. You can think 3 years ahead (Strategy), but you aren't afraid to open Canva or HubSpot and ship something today (Execution).
  • A "Complex-to-Simple" Wizard: You love technical subjects. You can interview a PhD scientist and then write a caption that a grazier in Queensland would actually care about.
  • Mission-Obsessed: You want your work to matter. You’re tired of selling SaaS for the sake of it; you want to solve the climate crisis.
  • Hyper-Organized & Scrappy: You're comfortable being deeply hands-on in a fast-moving, lean startup. You'll own the full marketing function, executing today while actively defining the structure and skillsets needed to grow your team tomorrow.


The "Nice-to-Haves"

Great if you’ve spent time in AgTech, ClimateTech, or a fast-paced agency. Even better if you know your way around Shopify, Canva or HubSpot. But mostly, we care about your velocity and your voice.
