Our Biodiversity & Heritage Regulator team is currently seeking to appoint a Triage Support Officer. This is a key support role that underpins effective environmental assessment and regulatory decision-making by ensuring matters are accurately captured, assessed and progressed from the outset.
In this role, you will support the triage of Environment Line reports by managing high-quality case records and ensuring information is accurately captured and maintained within the organisation’s regulatory case management system. You will source and analyse maps, spatial data, imagery and relevant background information to support timely desktop assessments and enable informed decision-making. Through preliminary risk screening, you will assist in identifying and escalating matters that require higher-level assessment, helping to ensure issues are prioritised appropriately and addressed within established policies and timeframes.
You will play an important role in facilitating efficient case referrals by maintaining well-organised, complete and accessible case files, while also ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies through accurate record-keeping. In addition, you will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team by providing administrative support, monitoring case progress, preparing routine reports and identifying opportunities to improve workflows and service delivery.
About You
You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional who enjoys working with information, systems and data, and who is motivated by contributing to positive environmental and heritage outcomes.
You bring experience in information management, data entry or administrative support, ideally within a regulatory, compliance or operational environment and are comfortable working with accuracy in fast-paced settings.
You have the ability to use information systems, databases and digital tools efficiently and with attention to detail and you are keen to build your capability and technical knowledge over time. Experience or emerging skills in GIS, mapping or spatial analysis will be highly regarded, along with a willingness to learn and adapt in a collaborative team environment.
