  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 plus super


 

The Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR’s) Innovation Systems and Intelligence team are seeking to appoint a Senior Data Analyst, Senior Data Engineer to provide expert advice on software/technological/data designs, builds software/data solutions, provides statistical information and analysis to support evidence-based decision making in regulation and compliance.


 

The role also provides advice and guidance to internal clients on programmatical, statistical and intelligence matters in support of the Department’s role as Natural Resources Access Regulator to enable better, faster, automated data and software for informed decision making for our customers.


 


 

About You


 

You are an experienced data professional with strong capability in data analysis, data engineering and full‑stack development. You excel at designing and delivering robust systems for data collection, storage, analysis and visualisation, and you’re confident developing bespoke applications and dashboards using languages such as Python and SQL. You take pride in producing clean, reliable code and applying sound engineering and project methodologies to deliver high‑quality, consistent solutions.


 

You communicate complex technical concepts clearly and can translate analytical insights into practical advice for diverse, non‑technical audiences. You work collaboratively with internal teams, stakeholders and partner agencies, building productive relationships that support co‑design, problem‑solving and the delivery of shared objectives. You actively contribute to a strong data culture by promoting best‑practice approaches to data governance that enable consistent and efficient use of information across the organisation.


 

You thrive in fast‑paced, dynamic environments where you must balance competing priorities and deliver accurate insights within tight deadlines. You are proactive, adaptable and driven by continuous improvement, consistently seeking opportunities to enhance processes, systems and the value of regulatory intelligence.


 


 

Essential Requirements


 

  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, data or computer engineering, or similar experience.
