Join us as a Policy Officer in the Nature and Natural Capital team!

Our Nature and Natural Capital team is offering an exciting opportunity to join us as a Policy Officer, working on reforms under the NSW Plan for Nature. You will help deliver legislative and regulatory initiatives that protect and enhance our natural environment.

In this role, you will prepare high-quality policy advice and undertake research and analysis to inform decision-making and policy design. You will work collaboratively to contribute to policy reviews and the development of effective, evidence-based reforms, applying sound judgement and creative thinking to complex policy issues.

You will be responsible for preparing clear and well-researched advice, including discussion papers, briefs and submissions, drawing on appropriate factual evidence and analysis. The role also involves undertaking both qualitative and quantitative research, scanning the external environment, and considering the values and interests of customers and stakeholders to ensure policy advice is informed, balanced and contemporary.

About You
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative policy professional who thrives on solving complex challenges and shaping outcomes that make a real difference.

You bring strong communication and analytical skills, with experience in conveying complex information in a clear way. With adaptability, critical thinking skills and the ability to build partnerships, you will play a key role in protecting and restoring the environment of NSW.

Skills and experience in data analysis are desired.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
